  8. To print an envelope, fill in the return and mailing address fields. 
  9. Press ESC to activate the menu, then select "Print!" to print a single
  10. envelope.

  12. If you have created an address data file , the return address fields may be
  13. filled.  Use the "Del" key to clear the return address fields if you wish the
  14. return address to be blank.

  21. If your envelope definition specifies a bar code location, ENVLJ will
  22. print the Postal Bar Code for the adressee's zip code at the specified
  23. location.  Please note, however, that bar codes can only be printed on
  24. Laserjet+ and Laserjet-II printers; the original Laserjet does not support
  25. the necessary graphics commands.

  27. You can define envelopes, fonts, and addresses by selecting the appopriate
  28. items from the menu.  Remember, help is available at all times by pressing
  29. Alt-H.

  100. Enter the coordinates of the return address and mailing address.  You are
  101. specifying the upper left corner of each area.  The format is:

  104.              MA_ROW  MA_COL

  106.              FM_ROW  FM_COL
  107.  
  108. where RA is the return address, MA is the mailing address, BC is
  109. the bar code, and FM is the FIM code.

  111. The Post Office scanners look for the printed address in an imaginary
  112. rectangle which extends from 5/8" to 2 3/4" from the bottom of the
  113. envelope, with 1" margins on each side.

  120. The BC_ROW and BC_COL should position the bar code such that the leftmost
  121. bar is between 3 1/4" and 4" from the right edge of the envelope and the
  122. bottom of the bars is 1/4" from the bottom of the envelope.

  124. The FIM code (FM_ROW,FM_COL) tells the post office scanners to look
  125. for the bar codes.  The FIM pattern should be no lower than 1/8" from
  126. the top edge of the envelope and should lie in an imaginary rectangle
  127. which extends for 1 1/4" horizontally, starting nore more than 1 3/4"
  128. from the right edge of the envelope and no deeper than 5/8" from the
  129. top edge of the envelope.  The rightmost bar must be between 1 5/8"
  130. and 2 1/8" from the right edge of the envelope.

  132. If either the FM location or the BC location is "0,0", no bar codes will
  133. be printed.

  140. The Printer Setup screen controls the setup strings sent to the printer at
  141. the time your envelope is printed.  When it's time to print an envelope,
  142. the following are sent to the printer:

  144.    -- Printer Reset (~E)
  145.    -- Landscape (~&l1O)
  146.    -- Manual Feed / Envelope (~&l3H)
  147.    -- Font Definition
  148.    -- Additional Printer Setup
  149.    
  150. This screen lets you turn on or off the Landscape and Manual Feed /
  151. Envelope strings and define an additional printer setup string if, for
  152. example, you want to enable a 2nd paper tray or auxiliary envelope feeder.
  153. As with other printer strings, use "~" in the string to represent the ESC
  154. character.
